Jim was raised in Augusta, Georgia, where he attended college and met his wife, Beth Howell. In 1985, they married and relocated to Europe for two years during his military service. After returning to the States, they settled in Raleigh, North Carolina, where Jim started his career in telecommunications. During their 11 years there, they fellowshipped at North Ridge Bible Chapel and were involved in various ministries, including Awana, Child Evangelism Fellowship, and Emmaus Correspondence Courses. In 1999, Jim's work moved them to Northern Virginia. Jim is also involved in the leadership of Pittsboro Christian Village and the Fredericksburg Men's Bible Study Fellowship Class. Statement of Leadership: Throughout the New Testament Scriptures, the concept of a plurality of leadership is taught. There is no teaching that a single elder/bishop/overseer/pastor should lead a church. At Cherrydale Bible Church, we believe in the plurality of church leadership. Cherrydale Bible Church currently has two men who pastor the church, hold the office of elder, and oversee the flock. You can find further information on our beliefs concerning pastors and elders here.
